Frequently Asked Questions
Will my wax seal survive mailing without cracking?
Yes—our low-temp flexible wax is designed to absorb shocks. For best results, apply your seal to a smooth, non-fibrous surface, allow it to cool fully, and consider using outer envelopes. Hand-canceling at the post office further reduces impact.
What temperature should I melt the wax?
Aim for a gentle melt—no smoking or bubbling. Hold the spoon 1–2 inches above the warmer. A slow melt prevents air pockets and retains color depth. If wax smokes, reduce heat or raise the spoon slightly.
How many beads do I need per seal?
For a 25 mm stamp, use 2–3 beads. For 30–32 mm, use 3–4 beads. Adjust based on paper texture and desired edge thickness.
How do I prevent the stamp from sticking?
Let the wax sit 5–8 seconds after pouring, then press the stamp straight down. A brief chill on a cool pack between impressions helps. Avoid oils—they can dull detail.
Can I blend colors?
Absolutely. Mix beads in the spoon and stir slowly to marble or fully blend. Test on scrap paper to dial your ratio before committing to envelopes.
What papers work best?
Smooth envelopes and lightly sized cotton papers yield the cleanest edges. Avoid heavy texture if you want crisp detail; fibers can introduce micro-tears on removal.
Do you accept returns?
Unused, non-custom items can be returned within 30 days. Custom-engraved stamps are final sale. Please contact us before shipping a return.
Can you make a custom crest?
Yes. Provide vector artwork and preferred diameter. We review legibility at stamp scale and confirm a proof before machining.
How do I clean the spoon?
Wipe warm residue with a lint-free cloth. For stubborn pigment, reheat gently and wipe again. Avoid abrasives that can score the bowl.
